|Proposed development off Kedleston Rd - update 14 June 6, 2015|
From Dr Paul Hodson, Chair, Quarndon Parish Council planning subcommittee 06.06.15
A Special Planning Board meeting has been arranged for Monday 6 July 2015, at 7.00 pm in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Ripley. The sole purpose of the meeting will be to consider and determine the Catesby/Kedleston Estates’ current outline planning application for residential development at Kedleston Road, Allestree (AVA/2014/0928).
The Traffic Consultant’s report, commissioned by the Parish Council, confirmed that this development would potentially have a severe impact on traffic congestion and that the submissions by the applicants about the effect on the local transport network were drawing invalid conclusions from incomplete or inaccurate material. The report has been forwarded to the Amber Valley’s Case Officer dealing with the application for study by the AV Planning Team and also forwarded to DCC Highways Dept. for their response. I also ensured that it was sent to the AV Community Planning Team who are dealing with the AV Revised Core Strategy for their information and for onward transmission to the Planning Inspector who continues to deal with that issue.
The Parish Council will be liaising with Kedleston Voice to review how we might best represent ourselves at this meeting of the Planning Board.
The change in political control of AVBC has led me to feel cautiously optimistic about the outcome of the coming meeting. However, a rejection of the application would likely lead to an appeal by the applicants against the decision, so we need to be prepared for this to run and run.[+ go back...]
