Response to Amber Valley Borough Council    April 16, 2015

From Dr Paul Hodson, Chair, Quarndon Parish Council planning subcommittee

Response by Quarndon Parish Council regarding further changes to planning application AVA/2015/0928 (proposed 400 houses off Kedleston Road)

The proposed development fails to uphold the national planning policy objectives of

1.     Conserving and enhancing the natural environment and open countryside

2.     Retaining the best and most versatile agricultural land

3.     Avoiding an adverse impact on this part of the district

In particular, the development would have a significantly adverse impact on a visitor’s experience approaching Kedleston Hall, Park and Gardens via two new sets of traffic lights and a large new roundabout along what would now be a decidedly urban access road.

Quarndon Parish Council continues to object to this inappropriate and unsustainable application
